Donation of Personal Protective Equipment #COVID-19
In her continuous efforts to keep the staff safe from the Coronavirus disease, Dr. Zainab Jallow, the Director General of the Food Safety and Quality Authority, with support from the Office of the Vice President Dr. Isatou Touray, today took delivery of essential sanitary materials from Friends of the Gambia, a Spanish philanthropic organization.
The Personal Protective Equipment include: nose masks, hand sanitizers, gloves and others. They will be used by our hard-working staff, especially inspectors during daily operations in and around town, and in the regions.
The Director General commended VP Touray for her foresight to connect FSQA with the philanthropists and promised to continue working diligently to make sure the populace remains sensitized about food safety issues. She also revealed plans in the pipeline to keep food handlers sensitized about the food safety guidelines during this period.
DG Jallow, hailed Friends of the Gambia for extending such a timely support to the Authority and promised to put the donated materials into good use.
The donors knowing the amount of responsibility FSQA carries, promised to do more in the foreseeable future
