The Vice President of the Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency Mohammed BS Jallow, on Wednesday, 23 July presided over the official opening of the Bi-monthly Sector Coordinating Meeting held at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre in Bijilo.
Organized under the Office of the Vice President and hosted by the Food Safety and Quality Authority,
the meeting brought together various government sectors to review institutional progress, share
achievements, and address key challenges in service delivery.
In his opening remarks, VP Jallow emphasized the importance of collaboration, innovation, and
accountability in improving governance outcomes. He described the meeting as a crucial platform for
evaluating sectoral performance and aligning strategies for national development.
“This platform is not just for coordination, but for assessing progress, identifying challenges, and
mapping the way forward,” he stated.
The Vice President praised the level of inter-sectoral cooperation and encouraged deeper collaboration
in critical areas such as food safety, nutrition, disaster response, population planning, and social
protection.
