His Excellency Mohammed B.S. Jallow, Vice President of The Republic of The Gambia, on Saturday, 16 August presided over the official launch of the Peace Esso Adventures Organisation at the Kasumai Beach in Bijilo.
Delivering his official statement, VP Jallow praised the organisation’s vision under the theme “Know Your Country Through Adventures”, noting that the initiative provides a unique opportunity to promote
both domestic and international tourism. He highlighted that the project goes beyond conventional tourism by showcasing The Gambia’s hidden gems, from natural landscapes and wildlife to historical
sites and cultural landmarks.
The Vice President emphasized that Peace Esso Adventures will not only market The Gambia’s beauty but also foster employment opportunities, encourage healthier lifestyles and promote greater
appreciation of the country’s heritage.
“This initiative is a turning point for the diversification of tourism in The Gambia and will open doors to new opportunities for our people,” VP Jallow stated.
He further commended the organisers, volunteers, partners, and participants, particularly those who traveled from rural Gambia, for their dedication in making the launch a success. The ceremony was
marked by an adventure walk from Bakau Kachikally to Bijilo Monkey Park, symbolizing the spirit of exploration and discovery that defines the initiative.
Peace Esso Adventures is committed to “selling The Gambia to Gambians” by encouraging citizens to explore and appreciate the nation’s cultural heritage, natural treasures, and unique adventure tourism packages.
Concluding his remarks, Vice President Jallow officially declared Peace Esso Adventures launched on August 16, 2025, marking a milestone in the country’s efforts to diversify and expand its tourism sector.
