In a significant meeting on Tuesday, November 14th 2023, the Vice President of The Gambia, His Excellency Mohammed B.S Jallow welcomed the esteemed delegation of Tostan's Board of Directors, Staff, and Partners at the State House in Banjul. The team were accompanied by the Governor of Central River Region (CRR), Hon. Ousman Bah, who highlighted the significance of Tostan's inaugural board meeting in The Gambia.
During the audience, the Tostan delegation, representing an African-based International NGO operating across five West African countries (Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, and Mali), expressed their profound delight at the opportunity to meet with the Vice President. The focal point of their discussion centred around Tostan's strategic plan for the years 2023 to 2030.
Carina Ndiaye, Chief Partnership Officer at Tostan, shared the organization's expectations, emphasizing their commitment to aligning their services with the priorities of the Gambian Government at both the national and community levels. Tostan’s mission is to empower communities to develop and achieve their vision for the future and inspire large-scale movements leading to dignity for all.
The Vice President assured that the Government of The Gambia remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering its citizens, aligning with Tostan's vision for positive change and sustainable development.
