His Excellency Mohammed B.S. Jallow, Vice President of the Republic of The Gambia, on Wednesday, 8 July received in audience a delegation from Fatiman & Co. Ltd., the country’s first full-service marketing, public relations and management firm, at his office in State House, Banjul.
The meeting focused on exploring strategic collaboration between the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Gambian-owned firm to enhance public awareness, promote government development initiatives and strengthen citizen engagement through effective communication and strategic branding.
Leading the delegation was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Fatiman & Co. Ltd., Fatou Iman Njie, who briefed the Vice President on the company’s journey, achievements and vision of supporting national development through innovative marketing and public relations solutions.
Speaking after the meeting, Njie described the audience as an opportunity to introduce the company to the Vice President and explore areas of collaboration with the Office of the Vice President.
“We came to the Office of the Vice President to introduce Fatiman & Co. and share the work we have been doing over the past five years. As a Gambian-owned company founded by a University of The Gambia graduate, we wanted to discuss how we can support some of the initiatives championed by the Office of the Vice President,” she said.
Ms. Njie explained that Fatiman & Co. Ltd. was established five years ago after her graduation from the University of The Gambia, where she studied Marketing and Management. She noted that the firm has grown into a one-stop agency offering marketing, public relations, brand management, social media management, event management and strategic communications services.
She further revealed that the company expressed interest in partnering with the OVP to strengthen public awareness campaigns on key national programmes coordinated under the Vice President’s leadership.
Among the initiatives highlighted were activities undertaken by the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA), the Food Safety and Quality Authority (FSQA), the National Nutrition Agency (NaNA), school feeding programmes and public sensitisation efforts aimed at enhancing national preparedness during the rainy season.
“We see the tremendous work the Vice President is leading alongside institutions such as NDMA, FSQA and NaNA, particularly in areas of disaster preparedness, food security and school feeding. At Fatiman & Co., we specialise in helping organisations communicate effectively with the public, and we believe we can support these campaigns to ensure the messages reach every Gambian,” Ms. Njie stated.
According to the Founder, Vice President Jallow warmly welcomed the initiative and commended the young entrepreneurs for establishing a successful business instead of waiting for government employment.
“He congratulated us for taking the initiative to create a company and becoming employers ourselves. He was pleased to see young Gambians using their education and skills to build businesses that contribute to national development,” she said.
Ms. Njie added that the Vice President expressed appreciation for the firm’s willingness to partner with government in promoting development programmes and addressing national challenges through strategic communication.
“He was delighted that we are ready to come on board and contribute our expertise. He recognised the value of communication in advancing development initiatives and assured us that his office is always open to supporting Gambians who are willing to work and contribute positively to national progress.”
The audience reflected the Government’s continued commitment to fostering partnerships with the private sector, empowering young entrepreneurs and leveraging homegrown innovation to advance national development and improve public service delivery across The Gambia.
